چکیده

results the allele and genotype distributions of pnpla3 rs738409 and rs2281135 were not significantly different between the chb and lc groups. after segregation on the basis of sex, no significant correlation between pnpla3 (rs738409 and rs2281135) genotypes/alleles and liver cirrhosis was detected. moreover, none of the haplotypes in pnpla3 (rs738409 and rs2281135) was found to be statistically different between the two groups. conclusions our results showed no association between pnpla3 polymorphisms (rs738409 and rs2281135) and the susceptibility to hbv-related liver cirrhosis in a chinese han population. patients and methods the study population consisted of 344 chinese han patients with chb, among which 203 presented with liver cirrhosis (lc group) and 141 had no sign of liver cirrhosis (chb group). taqman genotyping assay was used to investigate the association of two pnpla3 snps (rs738409 and rs2281135) with the risk of liver cirrhosis. background a single nucleotide polymorphism (snp) of patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 3 (pnpla3) genes (rs738409) is associated with the severity of fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients with fatty liver disease. however, in a small group of italian patients, there was no significant correlation between the rs738409 snp and hepatitis b virus (hbv) infection-associated liver cirrhosis. objectives this study aimed to investigate whether pnpla3 polymorphisms are a risk factor for liver cirrhosis in a chinese han population with chronic hepatitis b (chb).

Correlation Between Patatin-Like Phospholipase Domain-Containing Protein 3 Gene Polymorphisms and Liver Cirrhosis in a Chinese Han Population With Chronic Hepatitis B

BACKGROUND A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 3 (PNPLA3) genes (rs738409) is associated with the severity of fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients with fatty liver disease. However, in a small group of Italian patients, there was no significant correlation between the rs738409 SNP and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection-associated liver cirrhosis. ...

Association of patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 3 gene polymorphisms with susceptibility of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in a Han Chinese population

Gene polymorphisms had been found to be associated with increased risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The aim of the present study was to assess the association between rs2896019 and rs3810622 in PNPLA3 with the susceptibility to NAFLD in Han Chinese population.A total of 384 NAFLD patients and 384 controls were enrolled in the study. Blood samples collected from each subject were...

Correlations between ASCC3 Gene Polymorphisms and Chronic Hepatitis B in a Chinese Han Population

We have previously identified 8 SNPs in Han Chinese HBV carriers that are associated with disease progression. Although not well studied, genetic factors may also play a significant role in developing chronic HBV disease after exposure. We extend the effect of these eight SNPs on persistent HBV infection in this study. A total of 875 unrelated Han Chinese, 493 chronic hepatitis B subjects (CHB)...

a meta-analysis of the association between the i148m variant of patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 3 gene and the presence of chronic hepatitis c

conclusions the current meta-analysis showed an association between frequency of gg genotype of pnpla3 and the risk of development of chc in various populations throughout the world. results five hospital-based case-control studies were included in the final analysis. the overall frequency of pnpla3 gene polymorphisms was 20.4% (205/1005) in chc and 10.23% (53/518) in controls. the summary odds...

Genetic association between CD44 polymorphisms and chronic hepatitis B virus infection in a Chinese Han population.

AIMS This article aimed at discussing the association of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection with CD44 polymorphisms in Chinese Han population; meanwhile, the interaction of polymorphisms was also analyzed based on chronic HBV infection. METHODS The genotyping of CD44 polymorphisms was conducted by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) in 108 HBV ...

Association Between Patatin-Like Phospholipase Domain Containing 3 Gene (PNPLA3) Polymorphisms and Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: A HuGE Review and Meta-Analysis

We conducted a meta-analysis to assess the association between patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 3 (PNPLA3) rs738409 polymorphism and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its subtypes simple steatosis(SS) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The study-specific odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using fixed-effects or random-effects models...
